KC Weekend Events 5/12 - 5/14/2006

Spring is in full swing in Kansas City, and the plethora of events shows it! Here's some things to do:

Friday, May 12
  • Live Jazz at Benton's Steak & Chop House
  • The Blue Room features Ida McBeth
  • James Solberg is playing at Knuckleheads Saloon
  • Bob Reeder will be at Kyle's Tap Room beginning at 8:30PM

    Saturday, May 13
  • Shamrockin' in Westport features The Elders
  • Powell Gardens blooms with Iris Weekend and a Bonsai ezhibit
  • .Burr Oak Woods Nature Center offers "Beginning Birders Hike" 9:00am - 10:30am (816-228-3766 for info)
  • The National Frontier Trails Museum will present "Clash of Cultures", investigating how the Mexican, American, and American Indian cultures created the Southwest of today. (816-325-7575 for info.
  • Blue Springs Parks & Recreations will hold the Blue Springs Fishing Derby from 8:30am to 11:30am for kids 5-14.
  • It's the Spring Family Fun Fest at the Andrew Drumm Farm, 3210 Lee's Summit Road in Independence


    Sunday, May 14
  • Mother's Day Brunch & Concert at Powell Gardens from 11a.m to 3p.m
  • .Burr Oak Woods Nature Center will present "Beaks & Talons: The Daytime Raptors!" 1:00pm to 2:30pm (816-228-3766 for info)
